ATS is the original nitrogen-sulfur plant nutrient solution instrumental in unlocking the full potential of your fertilization program. ATS is a clear liquid containing 10% N and 25% S and is the most popular S-containing product used in the liquid fertilizer industry. Each litre of ATS contains 160 grams of nitrogen (N) and 346 grams of sulfur (S). ATS can be applied by drip, sprinkler or flood irrigation, as well as by broadcasting, banding, injection in the soil, and using liquid fertilizer nozzles. It may be blended with other fertilizers or applied as a foliar treatment on selected crops.

ATS aids in increasing crop yields and enhancing fertilizer cost-effectiveness by improving the nitrogen-sulfur balance and helps in maintaining necessary sulfur levels in sulfur deficient soils and crops.

ATS can be applied to a wide variety of field and cash crops as well as turf.

 Ammonium thiosulfate (ammonium thiosulphate in British English) is an inorganic compound with the formula [NH4]2S2O3. It is white crystalline solid with ammonia odor, readily soluble in water, slightly soluble in acetone and insoluble in ethanol and diethyl ether.

Product Application

 

1. Ammonium thiosulfate is used in photographic fixer. It is a so-called rapid fixer, acting more quickly than sodium thiosulfate fixers. Fixation involves these chemical reactions (illustrated for silver bromide)
2. Also exploiting the stability of thiosulfate coordination complexes, ammonium thiosulfate is also used for leaching of gold and silver.
3. It works with presence of copper as a catalyst. This process is a nontoxic alternative gold cyanidation. The advantage to ammonium thiosulfate is that the pyrolysis of its silver complexes leaves a residue solely of silver sulfide, in contrast to complexes derived from sodium thiosulfate.
4. Ammonium thiosulfate can be used as a fertilizer.
5.  It can also be used as an additive to coal-waste mixtures to reduce formation of dioxins and furans during combustion.
